Perhaps you are already aware that the reasons for which ghosts come to our world can be different: to convey a message, to fulfill a promise, to help a relative or friend. However, the most common reason is to inform relatives and dear people that they have not disappeared completely, but simply live in another world. People who are skeptical about the phenomenon of ghosts consider them to be self-deception and illusion. Others, who take this phenomenon more or less seriously, still very hesitantly talk about the real possibility of the existence of the other world, from where the souls of the dead come.
Meanwhile, cases when ghosts come with a clearly established mission (for example, to tell a person some secret information) are difficult to attribute to visions and imagination. And the most interesting visits of ghosts are when ghosts not only talk about the reasons for their appearance, but even influence the course of events themselves. These are exceptional and rare episodes, but they are the ones that can help find evidence of the existence of the afterlife. Such outlandish stories took place in various parts of the globe, and one of them unfolded a little less than twenty years ago in England.
Early in the morning, a fire broke out in the hallway of a small residential building in Essex, adjacent to another building. The owners were able to get out of the smoke-filled home in time, but in panic they left one of their four children inside the house engulfed in flames. When the head of the family realized this, it was simply no longer possible to enter the building, and the seven-year-old girl hysterically knocked on the window of her room, hoping that she would be noticed and saved. The unfortunate father and mother watched as small fists hit the frame on the second floor, they heard her calls for help through the roar of the fire, but they could not do anything. The girl herself could not be seen through the window, since she was not tall enough to look outside. The fire brigade was already rushing to help, but they still could not save the trapped child - they could only hope for a miracle.
And suddenly a miracle happened. There was the sound of glass breaking and a small porcelain figurine jumped out of the room. The next second, with incredible speed, as if pushed by superhuman force, a frightened girl jumped out of the window. Of course, no one expected such a turn of events and was unable to catch her. The child hit the asphalt hard, but it did not cause him the slightest harm. Very quickly the girl calmed down in the arms of her overjoyed mother. And even though the fire completely destroyed their house, the family was overjoyed that no one was hurt. And the miraculously saved girl told a simply fantastic story of her salvation. During the fire, when she had already begun to choke on smoke, a ghostly man appeared from somewhere in the room and threw a figurine out the window. Next, the ghost took the girl in his arms and threw her through the resulting hole into the street. The next memory was my mother's hug. According to the girl's description, the ghost was none other than her late grandfather.
At first, no one in the family took this story seriously. However, the unexpected rescue actually seemed very unusual and smacked of something supernatural. In particular, the hole punched in the glass was too small; it was simply impossible for a seven-year-old girl to jump out through it. In addition, we have already mentioned that with her height she could not even look out the window, therefore she had no way to get out through it. It’s better not to remember at all about the phenomenal luck when the girl fell from the second floor of the house to the ground and remained alive... Communicating with inquisitive journalists a couple of days after the incident, the mother admitted that she was ready to believe in her girl’s amazing story. “She miraculously squeezed through a small hole in the glass, fell from an incredible height and ended up with only a small scratch. She keeps saying that the ghost of her grandfather helped her, that it was he who saved her life. One cannot help but recognize the unusual nature of this case. Who knows, it’s possible that there really was a ghost here.”
By the way, there is also indirect confirmation of the girl’s story. A significant area of the building was at the mercy of the fire, but the room where the child was sitting has almost no traces of fire. After extinguishing the flames, the fire brigade examined the home and reported that there was no chair, table, or any other object near the window. This means that the girl had nothing to climb onto the windowsill from, which is an additional addition to the ghost story. The fire brigade admitted that they had never encountered anything more surprising during their work.
Are ghosts really able to come to help people in difficult and extreme situations? Old Henry Sims, a resident of Florida, who once himself escaped death in a burning house, for which he must thank the ghost of his late relative, is absolutely sure of the truth of the story described above, which happened to a little English girl frightened to death. It happened like this. Zimon 1978, at approximately eleven o'clock in the evening, Henry wished good night to his daughter and grandchildren who were visiting him. Sims lived with his wife Idella, he was not a special person, no inexplicable phenomena occurred near him, the old man did not have superpowers or even the gift of prediction.
That night, in the dream of Henry Sims, who was already in his early seventies, the face of a lifeless child was clearly depicted. Henry definitely recognized his nephew, who died in a fire back in 1932. The nephew stubbornly tried to wake Henry up, shouting his name loudly. The old man suddenly opened his eyes and felt a strange smell, as if something was burning. However, he was much more excited by the fact that near the bed stood the shining ghost of his nephew, just seen in a dream. At that same moment, the ghost melted away, and Henry jumped out of bed and shouted in a voice not his own that everyone should get out into the street as soon as possible. The noise woke up the others and everyone successfully escaped from the ensuing fire.
Then one of the fire service workers who arrived said that it was really strange that there were no casualties. If Henry hadn't woken up on time, things could have turned out much worse. According to the old man, God himself sent the ghost of a deceased relative to help. “God doesn’t want me dead,” Henry concluded. “He deliberately directed my nephew to prevent the death of innocent people.”
There is at least one more episode where a ghost, with its appearance, disrupted the sequence of events in our material world. It all happened in 1964. Perhaps this incident can be called the most stunning appearance of a ghost. An American engineering plant employee narrowly escaped death when a massive mechanism above him suddenly began to move. The employee was later sure (the story was supported by other plant workers who were nearby at that moment) that a huge dark figure, an instant before his death, had forcefully pushed him to a safe distance.
The man spared from certain death was not familiar with the ghost who helped him, and did not recognize him. However, other employees who had worked at the plant for several decades recognized the ghost as a poor man who had died long ago due to a similar accident. The ghost returned, not wanting anyone to repeat his fate.
So, based on what we just read, we can safely say that ghosts are able to influence our lives, they perform prudent actions. One can even assume that after the death of the physical body, a person’s mind and memory remain unharmed and exist together with his “thin” shell. In a way that is still incomprehensible, ghosts are able, at least for a short period of time, to migrate from the subtle state to the physical. In a word, a ghost can acquire a physical “skin” that comes into contact with people and objects of this world.
This means that they can become no less real than reality itself.
