Area-51 was created more than half a century ago - in 1955. It was here that the Lockheed Aircraft Concern once decided to test a new secret development - the famous U-2 spy plane. This territory simply ideally satisfied the requirements: a dead “lunar” landscape for many kilometers around, a completely smooth huge bed of a dry reservoir, blocked by powerful mountains.
